8. Purchase of equipment in the past 3 years |
Purchase of equipment for business use in the preceding three
years
One hundred and twenty six firms [26.5% of respondents],
imported their equipment in the past three years.
Documents verifying that the purchased equipment meets Serbian
[YUS] technical specifications
The biggest problem in this area concerns unrecognized foreign
technical specifications and the waste of time and money for
repeating the process of obtaining a domestic certificate.
Sixty-two point nine percent [62.9%] of firms who purchased
equipment for business possessed these documents.
Fourteen point five percent [14.5%] of respondents answered
that they didn’t possess these documents while the rest of respondents
didn’t answer the question at all.
Costs of obtaining equipment
The average time for receiving a technical certificate is about
forty-seven [47] days [or thirty-one (31) worker
days] while the same time period, excluding the maximum and
minimum 10% in value was equal to 27 days [or
14 worker days].
The costs associated with obtaining a certificate [for 23
firms] including the official fees are 890 €, NOT
including the cost of the bribe, which of course increases the
fees.
