Belgrade, Feb 6, 2004 - Discontented workers in towns of Gornji Milanovac, Cuprija and Zrenjanin blocked and occupied rooms of communal authorities in order to show dissatisfaction with their living standard. They tried to attract attention of authorities and in that way to say them their problems and to ask from them to repay them arrears salaries.
Fifty workers of 'Metal-seko'Co in Gornji Milanovac began the hunger strike yesterday because the majority of workers had not get their salaries for three years.
Workers of public communal company ' Usluga' in Cuprija blocked the communal building with their machinery equipment. They said that authorities did not want to talk with them having explained them that they had no debts to workers.
Also workers of 'Sugar Refinery Zrenjanin' invade the communal building and they did not want to leave it till the Serbian Government gave permission that they could continue production in the oldest sugar refinery in the country.
