BELGRADE, September 12, 2003 - The level of legal safety in Serbia has improved considerably over the past two years, which has created conditions to step up economic cooperation between Serbia and Austria, said Serbian Prime Minister Zoran Zivkovic at a meeting with an Austrian delegation led by Foreign Minister Benita Ferrero-Waldner.
The Austrian delegation, which included the deputy chairman of Austria's chamber of commerce, Adolf Moser, and Austrian Ambassador to Belgrade Hannes Porias, welcomed the measures taken by the Serbian government to create an investment-friendly environment in the country, and announced further Austrian investment in Serbia.
Ferrero-Waldner said that the creation of the state union of Serbia and Montenegro was the right way towards the European Union.
She welcomed the visit to Belgrade by Chris Patten, EU Commissioner in charge of external relations, as well as the launching of the feasibility study.
