PAPER AND BOARD
Due to the current situation in the country, paper production and consumption per inhabitant is low and, import levels are considerable. There is a need for investments and revitalization of equipment in order to improve production and quality. These are the general characteristics in production of all sorts of paper.

The problem of using mechanically recycled fibers in fiber production has already been pointed out. For example, participation of recycled fibers in the world paper production in 1990 (239 million tons) is considerable (Figure 1).
