2. Pasteurized Milk |
The production of pasteurized milk in 1999-2000 was approximately
225-229 M liters. Industrial dairies are the largest producers
of pasteurized milk. Small dairies do not take part in the production
consumable milk, as they are not interested in producing a basic
product with the lowest added value.
The capacities of the milk industry are not utilized adequately
[maximum of 60%]. The key reason for insufficient utilization
of capacity was the highly regulated market and, the highly
controlled prices for milk, which produced a negative pressure
on the entire production chain in the previous period.
This is why industrial dairies did not have adequate resources
of milk .the milk available to them was below the required standards
for quality and nutritional value. The low price of pasteurized
milk led to bad feeding of cattle which also reflected the low
quality of milk. Table 2.
