Belgrade is situated at the merger of the Sava and Danube rivers. The city occupies an area of 322.268 ha, with a circumference of 419 km.

As the political, administrative commercial center of the country, Belgrade is the seat of the highest state, republic and municipal authorities and institutions, companies and corporations. It is the largest banking and financial center of Serbia. Major foreign and domestic trade companies are located here. Also, in Belgrade are located numerous foreign representative offices, embassies and consular sections, trade companies, airlines and tourist companies.

The city of Belgrade has a registered area of 750,000 sq.m. of business premises. New business and commercial centers, built in the last couple of years, with lines of modern and beautifully furnished shops and boutiques, have spread the business and the trade network to all parts of Belgrade. Belgrade is supplied with goods by major production and trade systems and some new companies, manufacturers of high-standard goods.
