Medical doctors began their strike yesterday
Oct 3 (Blic) - As of yesterday medical doctors throughout Serbia are on strike. The Union of medical doctors claims that the number of doctors participating in the strike is above all expectations. That number is 3600. The Union further claims that the strike has been organized as per the example of developed countries such as France and Great Britain. Preparations lasted for long and even the smallest details had been elaborated.
Doctors were very much irritated by the statement of Serbian Finance Minister Bozidar Djelic that they had fallen down from the Mars thinking that there was money for their salaries. The doctors' request is that their salaries are increased so that the relation between the smallest and the biggest salary is 1:4, instead of current 1:2.87. Doctors claim that their request is absolutely moderate having in mind that the ration is in all other spheres 1:6.
