EPS damaged for 110 millions
Sept 29 (Blic) - In the period from June 23 to September 22 this year, Elektroprivreda Srbije has made almost 70000 checks of electric current consumers in Serbia. This three-month action showed that considerable number of Serbian households is not afraid of 'high voltage' and that they are actually stealing the electric
current. However, what EPS managed to collect from payments from those households using electricity free of charge is far from actual value of stolen electric current.
EPS, nevertheless decided not to give up and suffer the damage. It filed lawsuits against 498 households. It is yet to be seen whether this is going to give any results since our law does not stipulate any sanctions for stealing of electric current.
