After privatization 45.000 sacks
BELGRADE, Sept 2 (Blic) - There are no precise details about the number of people in Serbia who lost their jobs after privatization. However, according to data of Union Alliance of Serbia from 92000 employees in enterprises that were privatized via tenders or auctions, 45000 of them lost their jobs.
As Union representatives claim the workers under social programs, Government's or others, practically sold their jobs for less than they are actually worth. The money they got was very easy to spend. On the other hand a large number of workers filed a lawsuits against their former enterprises requesting some of their rights to be fulfilled. The Union also does not believe in Government's plan according to which there will be one million of new jobs opened in small and medium enterprises until 2008.
