Prosecutor on corruption charges unfit for trial
21:27 NOVI SAD, Aug 30 (B92) – Less than a week before former deputy state prosecutor Milan Sarajlic is due to stand trial on corruption charges, it is uncertain whether the case will proceed.
Lawyer Zeljko Marovic said today that the Novi Sad District Court had been advised by the prison hospital in Belgrade that his client was not fit for the trial, which is due to begin on September 5. Marovic said that the former deputy state prosecutor was suffering from severe depression and had expressed suicidal impulses, adding that he was being treated in completely inadequate conditions.
