Trade union demands Serbian government resignation
18:46 BELGRADE, August 27 (Tanjug) - The Association of independent trade unions of Serbia on Wednesday requested from the Serbian Government to submit their resignation due to the bad situation in the country, underlining that this resignation and a setting up of a government out of the most capable people regardless of their party
affiliation would give workers and the people hope that something can be changed towards the better.
The open letter to the government, read at a press conference by the trade union president Milenko Smiljanic, said that life in Serbia is very hard, the number of unemployed is high and is growing continuously, that there is no future, that the privatization is promoting a new wild capitalism, enabling capital of dubious origin to create panic among workers, and allowing some fifty people to become owners of about 80 percent of the socially owned capital.
