Searing winds fan Montenegro fires
18:57 PODGORICA, Aug 6 (Beta) - Fires have broken out in a number of areas in Montenegro with windy conditions and soaring temperatures fanning the blaze. Affected regions include the coastal resorts of Ulcinj and Budva and the old capital of Cetinje.
Four separate fires are out of control in the Podgorica region, with fire-fighters unable to reach those in the villages of Pipen and Vrbice because of difficult terrain. Army and police troops have been called in to contain a blaze which began in the Ulcinj rubbish dump. Fire fighters are confident they will bring a blaze in the village of Gornji Pobor, near Budva, by tonight.
