Despite drought, major water polluters continue polluting
17:00 NOVI SAD , Aug 4 (Tanjug) - The Waters of Vojvodina Public Enterprise said on Monday that the population of Serbia's northern province might suffer very serious consequences due to the pollution of waterways and the lack of possibility for their dilution and cleansing as a result of irregular collection of debts.
Towards the end of 2002, the debt created through the lack of payment of a water supply fee reached the amount of 451 million dinars and in the first semester of 2003, when 29 percent of this fee was collected, this amount dropped to 320 million dinars, the statement said.
