Army wages up
21:34 Belgrade, Aug 4, 2003 (SRNA) - Employees of the federal Army and Defence Ministry have been granted a 10.5 per cent pay rise.
Describing the increase as one of a series of measures aimed at halting the falling numbers of soldiers, the Defence Ministry said that average army monthly wage would now range from 19,593.56 dinars (about 300 euros) for officers down to 8,996.19 (about 140 euros) for contract soldiers. Monthly wages for civilians in the Defence Ministry will range from about 120 euros to about 270 euros, said the Ministry.
