Continuous drop of fertilizer production - PKS
18:25 BELGRADE , August 3 (Tanjug) - The mineral fertilizer production in Serbia has been declining continuously since 1988, when it amounted to two million tons, which experts believe to have been caused by the fact that agriculture is not considered to be a strategic branch of the economy.
According to the figures released by the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (PKS), 485,000 tons of fertilizers were produced last year, which means that only some 20 percent of the factories worked, while the fertilizer consumption has been reduced five times over the past ten years.
