Milosavljevic says sugar export suspension may be lifted soon
16:55 ROME, July 29, 2003 (Tanjug) - Serbian Minister of Trade, Tourism and Services Slobodan Milosavljevic told Tanjug on Tuesday that a suspension of Serbia's preferential sugar exports to the EU market might be lifted even before the expiry of a six-month period to which it had recently been extended.
After talks with Italian Deputy Foreign Minister Roberto Antonioni in Rome, Milosavljevic said that both sides had noted that the sugar business, which was the reason for the suspension, "could not take place without traders in Serbia and Montenegro and those in the European Union with whom trade took place."
