Huge challege for new NBS governor, Jelasic
13:41 NOVI SAD , July 23 (Tanjug) - The former deputy governor of the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) Radovan Jelasic said on Wednesday that the new governor of NBS Kori Udovicki faces a huge challenge, as the reduction of custom duties in Serbia, on the basis of the action plan on the harmonization of the economic systems of Serbia and Montenegro, will contribute to an additional increase of the foreign trade and balance of payments deficit.
"Moreover, elections are due to be held, and we all know what happens then," Jelasic told the Novi Sad Dnevnik and added that "if she is to pursue the same monetary policy, Udovicki, will be 'on the warpath' against the Serbian Government tomorrow."
