Possible easing of suspension of sugar exports to EU, Pitic
15:20 BELGRADE , July 23 (Tanjug) - Serbian Foreign Trade Minister and president of the commission for the sugar trade Goran Pitic said on Wednesday that he expected that the suspension of sugar exports to the European Union will be eased by October and added that a decision on the suspension is expected to be taken by the EU service for fighting malversations (OLAF) in about ten days.
Pointing out that the suspension will not jeopardize the domestic production of sugar beat, Pitic told Radio Beograd 202 that there was a possibility that subsidies for sugar exports are not returned at the beginning of August, when the three-month suspension will expire, and which was introduced by OLAF.
