St. Michael Co. claims: Vlahovic dares not coming to USA
Jul 23, 2003 (Blic) - Serbian Minister for privatization Aleksandar Vlahovic gave up official visit to USA. He was to traveled to America together with Serbian Prime Minister Zoran Zivkovic. Vlahovic gave up the trip because in Washington he 'would be met with a pile of proofs on corruption in his ministry', claims the statement issued by American company 'St. Michael Enterprise'. This company participated unsuccessfully in tenders for sale of several enterprises in Serbia.
Company's lawyer claims that Vlahovic decided not to come to Washington because he would have problems related not only to 'St. Michael'. 'He would have to reply to many questions regarding irregularities in his Ministry. He has to realize that this is not going to pass simply and he cannot hide in Serbia forever', the lawyer said.
