Japan to finance project of electric power distribution network rehabilitation
20:07 BELGRADE , July 17 (Tanjug) - A celebration marking the presentation of a project of electric power distribution network rehabilitation financed by the Japanese government through the UN Trust Fund for Human Security will be held in southern Kosovska Mitrovica and later in Srbica on Friday in the presence of Japanese Ambassador to Serbia-Montenegro Ryuichi Tanabe, acting UN secretary general's special representative for Kosovo Charles Braeshaw, UNDP Resident Representative in Kosovo Robert Piper and Kosovo Minister of Public Service Jakup Krasniqi.
The Japanese government expects that this project, which is to help promote basic living conditions of Kosovo citizens, will stimulate the process of democratization and create a situation that will promote the return of refugees and IDPs to their original communities, the Japanese Embassy to Serbia-Montenegro said in a statement, a copy of which was submitted to Tanjug.
