Senata Tobacco Factory request license for cigarette production
July 15, 2003 (Dnevnik) - Vojvodina have five factories for tobacco production and processing. Annual production in Vojvodina is 5.500 tons of tobacco - around half of total Serbian production. Factory in Senta is ready for cigarette production. Equipment is purchased and tested and they only need license from Serbian Government.
Serbia imposed 18 months moratorium and Senta can have there license in January 2005. In a mean time Vojvodina tobacco industry is condemned to collapse because tobacco processing without finalization in cigarette production cannot generate profits.
