Dinkic expects he will be replaced
16:38 NOVI SAD, July 15, 2003 (Tanjug) - National Bank of Serbia (NBS) Governor Mladjan Dinkic said in Novi Sad on Tuesday that he does not intend to remain in this office if the draft law on the NBS is adopted in its current form, but that he formally expects to be replaced by someone else in this important post.
If parliament adopts "the bill which denies independence to the central bank by having its work monitored by a political organ, and where the governor has no right to choose his closes collaborators and is himself appointed by the Serbian parliament Finance Committee, which degrades the governor's authority, then I personally do not intend to be in this office under such conditions," Dinkic said.
