Dinkic says government secretly prepared law on National Bank of Serbia
15:26 BELGRADE , July 10 (Tanjug) - National Bank of Serbia (NBS) Governor Mladjan Dinkic on Thursday accused the Serbian government of having secretly prepared, over the past eight days, a draft law on the NBS soon to be sent to the Serbian parliament for consideration and adoption by emergency procedure.
Addressing an emergency press conference, Dinkic said the draft law envisages total loss of independence for the central bank, and urged leading officials not to do this.
