Dinkic invites Djelic to emergency meeting
15:53 BELGRADE , July 10 (Tanjug) - Serbian Finance Minister Bozidar Djelic and National Bank of Serbia (NBS) Governor Mladjan Dinkic will hold a meeting at the NBS in Belgrade on Thursday to consider key issues of the draft law on the NBS, which Dinkic said jeopardizes the independence of the central bank and its governor.
The meeting is set to take place at 4:30 p.m., Dinkic told an emergency press conference called on after he learned the Serbian government would adopt a draft law on the NBS by emergency procedure and immediately forward it to parliament, also for consideration and adoption by
emergency procedure. It had previously been agreed with the Finance Ministry that the draft law on the NBS should be submitted to parliament in September this year.
