Serbian finance minister urges prevention of smuggling via Kosovo
18:48 BELGRADE, July 8 (Tanjug) - Serbian Finance Minister Bozidar Djelic said on Tuesday that "not an insignificant part of smuggling of cigarettes and other goods" was carried out through the territory of Kosovo-Metohija and that measures for fighting this should be taken in cooperation with Pristina.
Djelic said that the state had repeatedly protested against the fact that UNMIK and Kosovo institutions behaved contrary to an agreement of May 10, 2002, when they pledged they would introduce excise stamps on cigarettes and harmonies their tax policy on excise products with the neighborhood.
