IZIT says country is facing major debtor crisis
20:49 BELGRADE, July 7 (Tanjug) - Foreign trade results are getting worse, and if import continues to be three times bigger than export the country will face a major debtor crisis, Belgrade-based Institute for Market Research (IZIT) director Miloje Kanjevac said on Monday.
Speaking at a news conference, Kanjevac said that in May import was 2.98 times bigger than export, the share of consumer goods in the structure of import was growing at the greatest rate that like in the first five months, the share of intermediates was reducing, while the share of equipment in the structure of exports was reducing.
