Sugar culprits charged
12:55 BUDVA, July 3 (Beta) - Police in the Montenegrin coastal resort of Budva have filed charges against 17 people accused of importing sugar into Serbia, via Montenegro, evading 1.7 million euros in customs tax.
Customs tax on sugar entering Serbia is levied at 24 percent, but is tax-free in Montenegro.
Podgorica daily Vijesti reports that charges have been filed against the director of Budva-based ‘Adriatic Cooperation’, customs officers and warehouse workers in Bar.
