Damages caused by frosts and drought in the district of Sombor
July 2 (IIS, Dnevnik) - Late spring frosts and long lasting drought caused damage valuated on 934 million dinars (€14.5 million) in the district of Sombor.
This year losses are estimated as follows: 70,000 tons of sugar beet, 34,000 tons of wheat, 21,000 tons of corn and 3.2 tons of fruits. More than 55,000 hectares of fields and orchards have been damaged.
The forces of nature had most impact on wheat, corn, sunflower and sugar beet.
