Inflation in Serbia up by 1,8 percent after electricity price hike
16:44 BELGRADE, July 2 (Tanjug) - Retail prices in Serbia in the first six months this year rose by 3,7 percent, or an average 0,6 percent per month and, after the latest rise in the price of electric power, annual inflation will increase by an additional 1,8 percent but will not exceed the planned nine percent at the end of the year, National Bank of Serbia (NBS) Governor Mladjan Dinkic said Wednesday.
In the first six months, retail prices rose by 3.7 percent and, had this trend continued, annual inflation in Serbia would have been 7.6 percent, and this would have been the lowest inflation rate since 1969 when it was about seven percent, Dinkic told a press conference.
