In Serbia about 1,600,000 poor people
July 1 (IIS, Blic) - According to official data the number of poor people in Serbia is about 800,000. However, the real number of the poor is about 1,600,000, Jurij Bajec, coordinator of expert team for making of strategy for decrease of poverty said yesterday.
'The rate of poverty in Serbia is considerably higher from that shown by the statistics. The total number of poor people is about 1,600,000 and that is rather high percentage', Bajec pointed out at round table called 'Health and social policy and policy of education in strategy for decrease of poverty' organized by ASNS.
