Serbia-Montenegro meets US requirements
20:30 WASHINGTON, June 16 (B92) - The US has moved to lift restrictions on further financial assistance to Serbia-Montenegro in a decision by Secretary of State Colin Powell to grant certification.
In a statement today, spokesman Richard Boucher said while recent actions to improve cooperation with the Hague Tribunal were welcome, the US expects further actions to be taken in order for Belgrade to meet its obligations.
“We continue to call on all states of the region to cooperate fully with the Tribunal, including by arresting and transferring Radovan Karadzic and Ratko Mladic,” said Boucher.
