Additional writ off debt to be suggested to Paris Club, official
11:11 BELGRADE, June 12 (Tanjug) - Serbian Minister of Environment Protection Andjelka Mihajlov announced on Wednesday that the Ministries of Finance, Energy and Environment
Protection, which are preparing a joint programme of setting up a Fund for Investments into Energy, Efficiency and Ecology (Enefek Fund), would suggest an additional writ of a 450 million-euro debt for Serbia and Montenegro to the Paris Club of trustees.
The funds would be used for improving the country's environment and energy efficiency. Mihajlov told a press conference that it was essential that a rational (sustainable) use of available resources and ecological production be ensured for the competitiveness of the domestic economy. This is a model of exchange of debt for nature, she said.
