Constitution in autumn, then elections, says Micic
11:24 BELGRADE , June 9 (Danas) - Acting Serbian president Natasa Micic said today that she would not call elections for the presidency until after the new Serbian Constitution is adopted.
Avoiding comment on her legal obligation to call elections for the vacant post, Micic said that the new constitution would define the way in the which the president would be elected.
“The Constitutional Commission is doing well so far and I hope that the draft will be completed by the autumn.
“Anyway, the president will be elected once the new constitution and supplementary legislation are adopted,” said Micic, who as speaker of the parliament is ex officio acting president until elections are held.
