Again about sale of Sartid
June 4 (Blic) - Serbian Minister for economy and privatization Aleksandar Vlahovic said yesterday that there had been nothing 'illegal' in the sale of 'Sartid'. Referring to statement by German Ambassador in Belgrade Kurt Leonberger that German, Austrian and Italian entrepreneurs will file a lawsuit to Vienna Arbitration Court because of illegal activities in sale of 'Sartid' ironworks, Vlahovic said that 'Sartid' had been sold in the procedure of bankruptcy.
'It is well known that in such a case according to Law on bankruptcy there are two possible ways of sale. One is direct negotiations and the other tender procedure', Vlahovic said.
According to his words the council and president leading the process of bankruptcy chose negotiations and direct sale because of already signed agreements about investments between 'Sartid' and American 'US Steel'. So nothing has been done illegally', Vlahovic said.
