Unsatisfactory economic trends - president of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce
May 29 (IIS, Tanjug) - Serbia can’t be satisfied with economic trends, says president of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce Radosav Veselinovic.
Industrial production in January – April period dropped by 4% and exports stagnated. Serbian companies aren’t able to fight with the competition on foreign markets. Liquid assets of Serbian companies are insufficient. Interest rates are still too high 1.5 – 2% monthly. Privatization doesn’t work as planned because domestic investors haven’t enough capital for bigger acquisitions. Last but not least, border between Serbia and Montenegro is identical to a border with any other state.
