Batic: No elections before December 2004
13:14 BELGRADE, May 23 (Beta) - Serbian Justice Minister Vladan Batic today insisted that parliamentary elections would be called in December of next year.
Speaking at a press conference in Nis, the leader of the Christian Democrat Party said: “The problems in the government and DOS will be solved by then. We have to look after Serbia’s interests and not the interests of some opposition parties”.
Responding to Velimir Ilic’s earlier proposal that the New Serbia Party, DSS and G17 Plus should agree on an initiative for the declaring of extraordinary elections, Batic expressed doubt that G17 Plus would make any joint strategy with Ilic.
