Tax not inline with EU standards
20:09 BELGRADE , May 13 (Beta) - Serbia’s finance minister, Bozidar Djelic, admitted in a meeting with newspaper editors today that tax on periodicals in Serbia is out of line with European standards.
The editors have agreed to present a proposal for resolution of the problem by the end of this week, said the government in a statement today.
Publishers in Serbia pay twenty per cent tax on periodical sales.
The tax rate varies among the transition countries, but a number of them, the Republic of Srpska included, have dropped it altogether.
