UNDP to fight Montenegrin poverty
19:02 PODGORICA, May 10 Beta) – Representatives of the Montenegrin Government and the United Nations Development Programme have signed a contract worth 165,000 euros.
The contract, realized with the support of the British Government and the Montenegrin Ministry of work and social welfare, will be used in a project aimed at reducing poverty levels in the tiny coastal republic.
The project will see domestic experts profile current poverty levels in Montenegro and develop strategies for combating the problem, with final results demonstrating “visible progress for citizens existing on or below the poverty line”.
The Montenegrin Government also explained that the strategy should propose a long-term vision of Montenegrin development.
