Police to investigate sugar exports
13:30 JAGODINA, May 9, (Beta) – Serbia’s Interior Ministry has been
ordered to investigate the circumstances of sugar exports to EU
countries, Deputy Prime Minister Nebojsa Covic said today.
He told media that the investigation would target not only sugar
producers but also those who had failed to heed the EU’s warning on
illegal exports.
Warning that the EU was aware of all the facts, Covic called for
Serbia to take a serious attitude to the sugar exports problem and
show that it is a country the EU can trust.
