Heat wave brings water shortages
20:59 BELGRADE (B92) – Belgrade Waterworks have today appealed to citizens to use drinking water sparingly during heat waves.
Borislav Kalasic, senior official of the waterworks, told B92 that the water supplies of the city’s central districts would remain regular, provided the drought does not last for another month.
Kalasic explained that measurements taken by workers in the past few days had established that Belgrade suburbia uses 600 to 800 litres of water per person, per day as a result of watering their gardens.
Belgrade Waterworks today sent 15 tanks of extra drinking water to suburban communities.
