Disaster ahead in drought-hit Vojvodina
13:09 NOVI SAD, May 7 (Magyar Szó) - Farmers in Serbia's northern province of Vojvodina are facing a disaster unless at least twenty
liters of rain per square meter fall in the next ten days, Novi Sad media write today.
The director of the Novi Sad Institute for Agriculture, Miroslav Malesevic, told daily Magyar Szo that unless substantial rain falls by May 10, a natural disaster will be proclaimed.
He added that it was already certain that this years harvest would be down by between thirty and forty per cent.
