Someone has profited from exporting repacked sugar, Covic
JAGODINA - Serbian Deputy Premier Nebojsa Covic said on Friday that the Board for economy and finances "is determined to find out who had been exporting repacked Serbia's sugar to the European Union (EU) and making huge profits on this".
"Some 180,000 tons of repacked sugar were sold to the EU and, unfortunately, the situation is not being taken seriously by some people here despite the fact that the exports of sugar from Serbia will be suspended as of May 4, and no one can guarantee that this suspension will not be expanded to some other goods later on," said Covic in a live broadcast by the Jagodina TV Palma Plus.
