Serbia and Montenegro labor union forms protest council
BELGRADE - The Alliance of Independent Labor Unions of Serbia and Montenegro decided on Wednesday to set up a protest council which, due to the imperiled material and social position of workers in both republics, will prepare a joint action and possibly a general strike of all the employed.
It was said at the constitunt session that the council will be in constant session, to follow the situation and assess the need for synchronized protests in Serbia and Montenegro or the organization of a general strike, "and in that way send a clear message to the three governments that, if the demands of
labor unions are not met, workers will take to the streets."
