Italian investigation reveals 2 million dead birds from Serbia
BELGRADE - The Italian court in Vicenza has determined that two firms registered for hunting tourism in the period from 1995 to 2001 smuggled into Italy over two million birds killed in Serbia, said on Wednesday the Society for the Protection of Wild Birds of Serbia.
The society said that it received a detailed report of the investigation and the confessions of the arrested participants in the "Balkan birds" scandal, according to which DOO 'Eric-Mir' owned by Mira Milicebvic in a one-year period alone, 1999-2000, brought into Italy 12 shipments of birds in a hidden compartment of a van.
