Veselinov: Agricultural produce from Montenegro not to be allowed in Serbia due to low tariff rates
BELGRADE - Serbian Agriculture Minister Dragan Veselinov has said that due to low tariff rates, Serbia will not allow the import of meat, milk, vegetables and other agricultural produce from Montenegro, the B92 radio reported.
"We will do all in our power to make the Montenegrin government understand that tariff rates for agricultural produce must be uniform and that the interests of producers in Serbia have to be protected," Veselinov told the Hungarian-language Novi Sad daily Magyar Szo and added that an agreement with Montenegro had so far been made only on 20 percent of agricultural produce.
