Djelic: Several hundred million extra, but no room for panic
BELGRADE – Serbian Finance Minister Bozidar Djelic today said that the state of emergency had cost Serbia “several hundred million dinars more" than expected.
Explaining that the state of emergency had cost Serbia a lot, Djelic contended that it had been “the right measure for the right thing” because Operation Sabre, launched against organised crime, had been a key element of the economic policy.
The finance minister declared “there is no room for panic”, adding that the authorized bodies will manage to fill the budget in accordance with expectations and that regular payments of pensions and other budget duties would not be endangered.
