Serbian cosmetic market
Serbia imports approximately 5,000 tons creams, shampoos, bath products, deodorants and other cosmetic goods per year. Domestic factories produce 4,000 tons of these products annually. Cosmetic goods are mainly imported from Romania, Bulgaria, Poland and Hungary where some of the world's largest companies have established their factories for this region.
Palmolive, Nivea, Henkel, P&G’s and, Saponija are the products most commonly imported.
Domestic factories take a greater part of the Serbian shampoo market but over 85% of bath products and products for skin care are of foreign origin. The bestselling shampoo on the Serbian market is produced by Merima Leskovac. Imported products control over 2/3 of the deodorant market.
Makeup is also predominantly foreign.
