European road toll prices by the end of 2004
Milenko Despotovic from Direkcija za Puteve (the state agency for Road and Highway maintenance) announced that road toll prices will be increased once again by the end of this year.
The present payment system will be replaced at which time new payment methods will be established. The EU insists that by the end of 2004 Serbian road toll prices be equal to European prices for domestic and foreign vehicles.
At this moment the road toll in Serbia is 3 times more expensive for foreign than for domestic vehicles. The next payment increase will reduce that difference to 2:1.
