US experts assist setting up mediation and conciliation services
Belgrade - Representatives of the US Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service are on their first official visit to the Serbian Ministry of Labour and Employment regarding the offering of technical and financial assistance in setting up mediation and conciliation services in Serbia and Montenegro, the Ministry said in a statement.
The American experts will train local staff in mediation and arbitration, so as to teach them how to peacefully settle individual and collective
labor disputes and avoid strikes as a final means of achieving goals.
The initial training will be held on a tripartite basis, which entails cooperation between the employer, the union and the government. That way, the three parties will be
familiarized with the most adequate negotiation methods, read the statement.
