Belgrade looks to donors for billion dollars
BELGRADE – Serbia’s minister for foreign economic relations said today that a donor’s conference planned for September this year should net about a billion dollars in assistance for Serbia-Montenegro.
Goran Pitic told media that this would bring the total international assistance since 2000 to some four billion dollars.
Speaking after returning from an official visit to the US, Pitic said that the World Bank had agreed to the donors conference.
He added that the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund and major US investors had commended the Belgrade delegation on their success so far in carrying out economic reforms.
